L’Epi d’Or: 3 hours saved per salesperson per day

  • Tunisia · Food industry
  • Van sales (since 2019) and order taking (since 2022)
  • Navision integration · 45 users, 100% of field and back-office teams

Key figures

3 h
saved per salesperson per day (re-keying, checking, closing the round)
+12%
more points of sale visited (about 820 before, 920 after)
−80%
fewer invoicing errors (about 25 a month before, 5 after)
15 min
to close payments, instead of 2 to 3 days before

The customer

L’Epi d’Or makes pasta, semolina, couscous and flour in Sousse, sold throughout Tunisia and exported to four continents.

Two group companies use Valomnia. EDIS, the distribution subsidiary based in Tunis and Sousse, has equipped its 25 van sellers since 2019. UNPA, the factory, has equipped its 18 sales reps since 2022.

The challenge

At EDIS, van sellers filled in paper delivery notes, re-keyed at the office in the evening: about 1 hour 30 minutes of work on top of the round.

At UNPA, sales reps took orders from wholesalers on paper or by instant messaging, and they reached head office late.

In both teams, every re-keying created invoicing errors, payments took 2 to 3 days to close, and management had no real-time view of sales.

The solution

Van sales (EDIS)

Planned rounds, GPS check-in and check-out, invoicing on tablet with the invoice printed at the customer’s, up-to-date van stock.

Payments tracked in the app

Every payment is recorded at the time of sale. The round is closed in a few minutes.

Order taking (UNPA)

Orders entered on mobile, with visit and customer collection tracking.

Navision integration

Customers, items, prices and sales are synchronized, with no re-keying.

Management dashboards

Sales by region, area, point of sale and distributor, in real time.

In pictures

Customers, items and prices flow from Navision to the tablets; sales and payments flow back with no re-keying.

The results

Van sellers end their day with no re-keying, and the time saved goes back to the field. With schedule tracking, managers see planned, completed and missed visits in real time, and rounds are better kept: 12% more points of sale visited.

Sales transactions are right the first time, payments are up to date the same evening, and prices and promotions are the same everywhere in Tunisia.

“Our van sellers no longer re-key anything in the evening: the round is closed and payments are up to date in minutes.”

Mohamed Yacine Chantou, Retail Sales Operations Manager, L’Epi d’Or

“Our sales reps have everything on their tablet: the catalogue, prices, orders and collections. They take the order at the wholesaler’s and immediately know where it stands with its payments.”

Mohamed Boucif, Sales Director, UNPA (L’Epi d’Or)
